Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Blog?
You may already be into ‘blogging’ as a consumer or reader of other peoples’ blogs.
Blogging advocates cite the engagement benefits, pointing out that blogging integrates the learning areas of IT and literacy in a current and familiar medium for students.
Why use Blogs for schools?
A school blogging system will serve as an online resource. The use of blogs has become popular in education institutions including public schools and colleges. Blogs can be useful tools for sharing information and tips among co-workers, providing information for students, or keeping in contact with parents. Common examples include blogs written by or for teachers, blogs maintained for the purpose of classroom instruction, or blogs written about educational policy.
Why nCorde for your IT, web, and blogging needs?
This is new thinking. No longer should the ‘one size fits all’ design of education be the only option for us living in the 21st Century. We need diversity within the education system to meet our young people’s wide range of needs.
nCorde’s Educational blogs aims to address these needs, focusing on individual learning and engaging students on a personal level. While we are not suggesting that we are the only IT Solution provider that can make this contribution to education in Australia, we do believe that our blogging system works, and has been proven and demonstrated in schools across the USA and the European countries.
Is blogging educational?
One of the biggest problems with traditional education system is that the Internet technologies changes too quickly. New technology and new trends mean that by the time a student is done with his education much of what he has learned will already be obsolete or at least somewhat dated.
Textbooks and curricula will naturally follow the current technology and trends, but by the time those changes are made to the textbooks and curricula, and then by the time you complete all of your education and get to the real world, a lot has changed.
Why Student blogging in the classroom?
Some researchers also claim that student blogs promote learning by providing opportunities for students to take more control of their learning and the content they engage. It is also claimed that student blogging intrinsically motivates students to become better readers and writers.
